On Friday, July 9, 2021, an LPSO Deputy stopped a vehicle on US Hwy 84 in the Whitehall community for an equipment violation. The driver was identified as Jason Gandy, 37, of Jonesville. While speaking with Gandy, deputies could smell an odor commonly associated with marijuana to which Gandy advised of possessing a small amount of marijuana in the center console.

A further search Gandy’s vehicle revealed an M&P 9mm pistol along with a small baggie of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.  Jason Gandy was arrested and transported to the LaSalle Parish Jail to be booked on charges of possession of CDS I marijuana, possession of CDS II methamphetamine, possession of firearm with CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
